Every jar of KUINI Manuka Honey tells the story of ancient Manuka forests, dedicated artisan beekeepers, and sustainable practices that ensure both the land and the bees thrive for generations to come.

What Do UMF and MGO Mean?

Understanding Manuka Honey Grading

UMF Rating

Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) is the gold standard grading system that measures four key components: MGO content, Leptosperin (authenticity marker), DHA (shelf life indicator), and HMF (freshness indicator). Only genuine monofloral Manuka honey from New Zealand can carry the UMF mark.

MGO Rating

Methylglyoxal (MGO) is the primary active compound responsible for Manuka honey's unique antibacterial properties. The higher the MGO rating, the more potent the honey's beneficial effects.
